You don't get better at
bridge by watching
You get better by doing the reps
site down for maintenance until July 31st.
Please return then for the Real Deal!
A friendly online gym for everyday players who nod along to videos then can't remember how to apply the concept at the table.
A complete lesson on a real concept. No Card. No Signup.
Just a lesson taught the way you learn best.
SOUND FAMILIAR?
You've watched the videos and it still doesen't come to you at the table.
"I remembered the whole concept, the second the hand came up, I just couldn't remember the specifics of how do it!"
It isn't you, and it isn't the video. It's how watching works. Most of what we take in passively is gone within a day or two - that's just how memory behaves. You can watch a brilliant lesson on negative doubles, agree with every word and still not reach for it when the hand finally comes up.
The players who actually improve aren't watching more. They're practicing a little, often, with feedback and seeing the same ideas come back around until they stick. That's the whole difference. And it's exactly what a gym is for.
Why a gym beats a video
Nobody gets Fit Watching someone else lift.
Watching bridge is watching fitness videos. It feels productive but the gains don't show up at the table. Reps do.

Here, the lesson teaches you on the real deals and your workouts bring it back through daily workouts and then again in a few weeks - until it sticks. That's how it moves from I understood it to I did it without thinking.

So - What's a Lesson
A 15-20 minute workout built to stick - Not a lecture.
Each lesson takes one idea and runs it through the same four steps. The last three are the parts a video leaves out.
Watch
A short video
One concept taught in plain English. - No firehose.
Ask
Q & A
Your questions answered - as many as you have - before you move on.
Play
Practice Hands
You make the calls on real deals where the concept comes up.
Check
Quiz
Instand feedback on what you nailed and
what to rethink.
Then daily workouts keep it
A lesson teaches the idea. Then your short daily workouts keep bringing it back in different ways days and weeks later. It moves from "I learned that" to instinct.
Why I built this ...
Hi! I'm Ruth -

Message from Ruth (1)
Honestly? I built this for the player who is learning the way I learned - from generous friends who took me under their wings and gave me the basics. I took lessons. I read books. I joined ACBL and got hooked.
After that, my "continuing education" was a zigzag of mishmash-A tip from another player, a convention that seemed to provide an advantage, and ended up with a lot of good stuff, and along the way, crafted a convention card that produced consistently good results. It is so good, I wrote a book about it: Better Than 50% Bridge.
So Many times during my journey, I thought there had to be an easier way to get better. I was told to 'Play up"..learn while playing. I felt embarrassed a lot of the time. Because I loved the challenge of this wonderfully madening game, I stayed with it. I know a lot of players gave up not wanting to be embarrassed.
That nagging feeling is really my whole background talking. I taught for 13 years and have a Master's in education, so I'm a little obsessed with how people actually learn and keep what they learn — which is exactly what this gym is built around. Later I became a programmer/analyst, which is how I was able to design and build this whole place myself, with AI as a trusted partner along the way.
So this isn't a pile of videos. It's the straight path I wish someone had handed me — structure, a direct line, and lessons built the way learning actually sticks. (For the bridge folks: I'm an ACBL-accredited teacher and director, and I run welcoming games every week — but I'd rather show you than list credentials.)
